Diploma in Bricklaying Construction

This course takes place in a practical environment and includes:
Demonstrations, Practical workshops, Theory, Assignments and Project work.
Subjects covered include; cavity walling, arch construction, decorative brickwork, access platforms, insulation, piers, coping and capping, pointing, health and safety and you will be using a wide range of different tools, plant and equipment.

Entry Requirements

2 Years - 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or equivalent Level 1 / Entry 3 qualification. Real interest and commitment are essential.

What do I need to bring?

- Safety Footwear.
- Tape Measure.
- Ruler.
- Pens.
- Pencils (for classroom and workshop).
- Pencil Sharpener.
- A4 Ring Binder.
- A4 Lined Refill Pad.
- Calculator (mobile phones are not acceptable).

Assessment/Exam information

Diplomas confirm your ability to carry out a task to national standards set by employers representing the whole of the Construction Industry.

Diplomas are assessed by:
- Observation of your work and the models you produce.
- Accreditation of prior learning.
- Questions asked of you at a time and place that meets your needs.
- Completion of job knowledge and learning packs.
- An end practical phase test.
- External Multi-Choice test.

All assessment is continuous and an integral part of the training process and takes place throughout the whole course year.
