Diploma in Light Maintenance & Repair Principles

Combines practical training along with mechanical theory. Will be involved in demonstrations, practical work, theory lessons, computer sessions, tutorials and project work.
You will complete a portfolio of coursework based assignments, practical assessments and online assessments.

Entry Requirements

2 Years - 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or equivalent Level 1 / Entry 3 qualification, with a passion for automotive technology.

Assessment/Exam information

You will complete a portfolio that will consist of coursework based assignments, practical assessments and on-line assessments (multi choice on-line examinations).

Other information

During the course you will receive expert tuition from well-qualified and experienced staff.
You may also be required to work towards English and Maths Qualifications.
Within the college you will also have access to a range of facilities; i.e. Library, IT Centre.

Qualification description

On completion the student will gain the following qualifications: Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.

Skills Gained:
• Greater knowledge of the motor vehicle is gained ensuring practical skills are widened so the learner is confident at removing and refitting the different components.
• Preparation to work is discovered through the ‘Live’ College workshop sessions and the work experience programme.
• Functional skills are gained at Level 1 including mathematics and English. All essential skills required for employment and future progress within education or employment.
