Level 3 Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations (City & Guilds 2394/2395)

This qualification is aimed at people working in the electrical industry who have existing knowledge of inspection and testing but who need to complete the formal qualifications and refresh and/or upgrade their skills in initial verification, certification, periodic inspection & testing of electrical installations.

Entry Requirements

You must hold a current Level 3 Full Electricial Installation and current Wiring Regulations Qualifications.

The level 3 qualification will suit you if you are a practicing electrician and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge.

You work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard.

This course is only available for 19+ students.

What do I need to bring?

- Pen/Paper.
- BS7671, 17th Edition Wiring Regs Amendment 3 and the On-Site-Guide.
- Calculator.

Assessment/Exam information

There are three assessments to this qualification.

On-line Multiple choice Thursday 8th June at 15:30 for 80 minutes.
Final on-line written Thursday 15th June at 15:00 for 120 minutes.
Practical Assessments Thursday 22nd June, Thursday 29th June.




Other information

For the 2395 element you need a good knowledge of BS7671, 17th edition wiring regulation to amendment 3.
The 2394 & 2395 qualifications are currently required in order to gain JIB grading as an approved electrician.

Following the taught course, 6 days over six weeks on Thursdays, the first on-line multiple choice assessment takes place in the afternoon of the sixth day. The next two weeks, on Thursdays and Fridays on the dates indicated, are when the practical assessments take place and candidates will have to register a place on a least one of the dates offered. The Final On-line Written Exam takes place on the second Thursday after the taught course finishes, on the date indicated.
