Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

"The aim of this regulated qualification is to provide individuals with knowledge of the basic food safety practices that are essential in the catering industry. This includes the hazards and risks to food safety presented by food operations and personnel, together with cost-effective, practical control measures. It provides up to date food safety knowledge for anyone already working in a food preparation or handling role, or who may be starting a new job in the sector.

The qualification is designed principally for those who are, or intend to be, food handlers working in catering. It is also appropriate for those providing services to catering premises including pest control operators, maintenance engineers, cleaners, and laundry and delivery personnel. "

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, just an interest in Food Safety. A minimum understanding of Level 1 English is advisable.

What do I need to bring?

Pen and food safety handbook, which will be sent to you to read through before the course.

Assessment/Exam information

This consists of a multiple choice question paper of 30 questions to be answered in 1 hour. The paper is set and marked by HABC.
