BTEC National Extended Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production

You will explore exciting areas of Media Production. Encounter and respond to both visual and conceptual challenges whilst developing the necessary skills to progress into the industry.
You will develop transferable creative skills in relation to the digital media industry, and be introduced to the software, techniques and processes associated with the production of digital media products.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4 including English, or equivalent Level 2 qualification. Records of formal study, i.e. a report, media based project work and evidence of a written piece of work.

Assessment/Exam information

The course is assessed by a variety of methods including: projects, assignments, presentations and course work; Some of these are internally assessed whilst others will be externally assessed via exams or external tasks. All assessment is verified by an external examiner to maintain national quality and standards.

All work is graded using a scale of Pass, Merit and Distinction. The course is unit based and presents continuous assessment opportunities, as opposed to a final examination; therefore, your progress can be accurately tracked and assessed throughout the entire program, offering you the opportunity to improve your grades.

Other information

Any student who has not previously achieved a grade 4 in GCSE Maths will be required to study towards this qualification as part of their program of study.

During the course students develop a range of transferable skills, which play an essential role in developing personal effectiveness for adult and working life and in the application of specific vocational skills.
