Higher Apprenticeship for Assistant Practitioner (Health)

This highly flexible higher apprenticeship allows staff working in health and social care settings to gain new knowledge and skills.
The course is primarily aimed at care workers who are taking on new roles, for example as assistant practitioners.

Entry Requirements

You will be in employment, and working a minimum of 30 hours per week as you must be able to continue working in an appropriate health or social care setting while undertaking the work-based learning component.
Each application will be considered on an individual basis following the University's principle of widening access to those who might not have the traditional academic entry criteria to degree level awards.
Normally the entry requirements are:
 Level 2 Maths Qualification – GCSE C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2
 Level 2 English Qualification – GCSE C/4 or Functional Skills Level 2
 Care Certificate
 Level 3 Qualification – Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
 Support from your employer using the Apprenticeship Levy to fund your place on the course.
Please note that Maths, English, Care Certificate and this course have to be completed prior to the completion of your Higher Apprenticeship.

Assessment/Exam information

You will be assesssed through module based assignments and the apprenticeship standards.

Evidence of achievement at level 2 maths and English, and completion of the Care Certificate prior to the completion of your Higher Apprenticeship.
