HNC Civil Engineering

This qualification is aimed at those working in construction and civil engineering roles.
On completion students may take on enhanced roles within their workplace, and typical roles include Civil Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Structural Engineer, Site Engineer, or Railway Engineer. Students may also progress in to Higher level Degree courses.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths at grade C or above, plus a relevant Level 3 qualification such as;
• National Certificate in Civil Engineering
• National Diploma in Civil Engineering
• An approved alternative qualification such as A-Levels

What do I need to bring?

Notepad/paper, pen, pencils, calculator (mobile phone is not acceptable for this).

Assessment/Exam information

This programme is awarded by Edexcel and delivered by Swindon College.

Assessment methods involve formative and summative strategies leading to a positive learning methodology with written feedback on all assessed work.

All work submitted for assessment will be marked and returned with feedback within four weeks.

Other information

During the course you will receive expert tuition from well-qualified and experienced staff. Within the college, you will also have access to a range of facilities; i.e. Library, IT Centre, etc.

What can I do next?

After completing the course, students could go on to a part-time degree in a built environment discipline or study for professional qualifications.
