Diploma in Light Maintenance & Repair Principles

Aimed at those wanting to gain a position at a garage as a technician. You will gain diagnostic skills to enable you to fault find in the complex systems and technology used in the motor vehicle industry.
You will also have demonstrations, practical, theory and computer sessions, tutorials and project work.
You will complete a portfolio of coursework based assignments, practical and online assessments.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
A passion for automotive technology.

You will complete a portfolio that will consist of coursework based assignments, practical assessments and on-line assessments (multi choice on-line examinations).

Other information

During the course you will receive expert tuition from well-qualified and experienced staff.
You may also be required to work towards English and Maths Qualifications.
Within the college you will also have access to a range of facilities; i.e. Library, IT Centre.

Qualification description

n completion the student will gain the following qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.

Skills Gained:
• Diagnostic skills are gained and a high level of knowledge is achieved which will enable the learner to be fully prepared for the work environment.
• Potentially the learner has the opportunity to further their education by moving into a university foundation degree or Motor Vehicle retail management.
• Functional Skills are gained at Level 2 including mathematics and English. All essential skills required for employment, and to be able to fully understand Motor Vehicle technology.
