Level 3 Apprenticeship in Accounting

This course is suitable for people employed in the accounts/finance industry.

The Apprenticeship covers the following areas:
• Advanced Bookkeeping
• Final Accounts Preparation
• Management Accounting: Costing
• Indirect Tax
• Ethics for Accountants
• Spreadsheets for Accounting
On successful completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship, students may wish to consider working towards the AAT Technician qualification (Level 4).

Entry Requirements

The Apprenticeship is open to those aged
16+ in suitable employment who hold the
Level 2 AAT qualification and
GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above in English and Maths.

For exams taken 2017 onwards you will need GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 5 or above in English and Maths.

Applicants are required to sit a mock skills test prior to acceptance on the
Advanced Apprenticeship.

Fees information

AAT and examination fees are reimbursed by Swindon College. Apprentices are required to pay for their own books and/or study material.

Assessment/Exam information

Students are assessed through a combination of computer based exams and a synoptic assessment (all marked by the AAT).

Employment Rights and Responsibilities
(ERR) require the completion of a
Workbook.

This course is based at North Star.
During the course you will receive expert tuition from highly trained staff.
A qualified Assessor will be allocated to the learner who will provide an induction and plan with him/her assessments in their work place.

A Training Co-ordinator will support you throughout your training, through regular work based review meetings.
