MOT Tester Annual Training and Annual Assessment

It is now a requirement of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) that MOT continued professional development is completed. The 5-year MOT tester refresher course has been replaced by annual training and an assessment.

How MOT annual training works:

You must do MOT training and pass an assessment between each year to keep your tester status.

Complete at least 3 hours of training each year (you need to do 16 hours in the rolling 5-year period).
Record of your training via a Swindon College attendance certificate.
Take an annual assessment.

Swindon College will provide a Training environment classroom, provide the on-line material to give the knowledge requirements, non-technical support, a facilitator to help log in and invigilate the assessment, network opportunity to complete the training with other MOT professionals.

Entry Requirements

This course is only available for existing MOT testers.

This course is only available for 19+ students.

What do I need to bring?

- A pen/paper or method to take notes.
- MOT manual.

Assessment/Exam information

After 3 hours of training you will complete an on-line assessment in your 4th session.

Please be aware this course has variable start dates and will run once enough students have enrolled. After this time you will be placed on a waiting list and made aware of when the course will be running.
