School of Computer Science: Level 2 Digital Technology

Swindon College offers high quality, stimulating and engaging Computer Science and Level 2 Digital Technology diploma As a result of our new status as a CISCO Academy, learners can benefit from the association with the worldwide leader in IT and networking. Also the Level 3 Diploma will offer students the option to do an EPQ of their choice to supplement their UCAS tariff or the CISCO/CompTIA internationally recognised professional qualification. On both courses, you will be developing your skills in Computer Systems and their security, the impact of IT on business, project management, software and App development and IT technical support.

Entry Requirements

GCSE English & Maths at grades 2-3 are a significant advantage, though not essential.

What do I need to bring?

USB drive (16GB min) file, notepad and pen.

Assessment/Exam information

Units will be assessed using a variety of assessment methods including written reports, role plays within business contexts, presentations using modern technologies (e.g. Online portfolios, digital video, Power Point, Prezi amd visual displays.

Other information

The Level 2 Diploma for IT Users and Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles form the vocational element of a full-time programme of study. The other compulsory elements include GCSE English and mathematics or appropriate functional skill; work experience; community volunteering; On-line Careers & Employability Unit; cross college enrichment activities and weekly tutorials.

Progress onto our Level 3 qualification, HND Computing routes that include networking, engineering, data, security, intelligence and applications.
