Level 2 EAL Diploma in Engineering and Technology

This qualification focuses on practical skills and knowledge. It covers the intermediate level knowledge and understanding of a broad range of engineering competencies required by someone working in the engineering industry. The qualification covers a wide range of subjects including electrical and electronic engineering, welding engineering, maintenance engineering, mechanical engineering, pipework systems mechanical engineering, electrical/electronic engineering and maintenance engineering.

This qualification is for those:
• with limited prior knowledge and understanding of the engineering sector but have the ability to achieve an intermediate level engineering qualification
• who wish to progress to become an engineer (e.g. maintenance engineer, mechanical engineer, welder and/or fabricator or an electrical and/or electronic engineer etc.)
• are thinking about engineering as a career but who would like some experience of the job role first
• who are new to the industry or looking for a career change or wish to learn new skills.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at Grade D/Level 4 or above, to include mathematics, English and science or full Engineering related Level 1.

What do I need to bring?

Notepad/paper, pen, pencils, calculator (mobile phone is not acceptable for this).

Assessment/Exam information

Each unit within the qualification has specified assessment grading criteria which are used for grading purposes. A summative unit grade can be awarded.

Within the college, you will also have access to a range of facilities and resources including the Learning Resource Centre, Wellbeing Centre and Gym.
