Level 2 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts

If you are a highly creative individual and enjoy a wide range of disciplines, then this could be just the course for you. Throughout this course you will explore a wide range of performance and production arts subjects that will develop and build your abilities as a performer. You will develop opportunities for individual creative expression within a performing arts context, by working collaboratively with a mix of professional directors and actors through workshops, projects and productions.
You will be encouraged to take an experimental and open-minded approach to exploring ideas which challenge and develop your acting and stage craft ability
This course will help you develop independence and gain hands-on professional experience in the performing arts industry.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSE at grade D/3 or above including English. All applicants will be invited for interview, following which you will be asked to attend an audition. Students without a grade 4 in either English or Maths will need to study the qualifications as part of the study programme.

All students should maintain and carry a notebook, pens and pencils

Assessment/Exam information

The course is assessed by a variety of methods including: projects, assignments, presentations and coursework. Some of these are internally assessed, whilst others will be externally moderated, via external task. It is important to note that there are no exams within this qualification, however, all assessment is verified by an external examiner to maintain national quality and standards.
All work is graded using a scale of Pass, Merit and Distinction. The course is unit based and presents continuous assessment opportunities, as opposed to final examination; therefore your progress can be accurately tracked and assessed throughout the entire programme, offering you’re the opportunity to improve your grades

Other information

During the course students develop a range of transferable skills, which play an essential role in developing personal effectiveness for adult and working life and in the application of specific vocational skills.
