Level 3 - AAT Accounting Apprenticeship

Cheryl is studying a Level 3 AAT Apprenticeship with Swindon College.

After completing a Level 2 AAT Accounting qualification at Swindon College, Cheryl wanted to progress onto a Level 3 qualification. She picked an apprenticeship because she wanted to gain hands on work experience to grow her skills from a career development perspective.

As part of her apprenticeship, Cheryl has experience of doing a BACS payment run, reconciling bank statements, placing purchase orders and recording parent pay income in the system.

Cheryl said,

Securing a role at The White Horse Federation has helped me to have a deep understanding of working within schools, and my placement at the Ridgeway School gave me a real life working experience in finance. Having won the AAT Apprenticeship of the Year award has made my accounting journey even more beautiful and in the future, I hope to complete the apprenticeship, progress to study CIMA and become a management accountant.

Cheryl’s employer, Steve Brimfield, said,

Cheryl has demonstrated the flexibility and dedication required to undertake training whilst gaining first hand on job skills and knowledge. She has proven to be an outstanding member of the team and exactly why the apprenticeship programme is valuable.’
