Sandy Law

Level 3 - Engineering Apprenticeship

Sandy is has completed an advanced apprenticeship in mechanical manufacturing at Swindon College.

Before coming to Swindon College, he studied A Levels in Maths, Physics and 3D Design at Cirencester College, whilst working part time in a café. After this, Sandy came to Swindon College, as he didn’t want to go to university. Instead, he preferred the more hands-on and assignment based apprenticeship qualification so felt this was the best route for him.

Sandy said,

I like the fact that on an apprenticeship programme, you’re paid to train and learn, as well as the active learning and learning on the job, gaining industry relevant skills to industry standards. My apprenticeship with Intermach involves operating, setting and programming CNC machines and producing components from engineering drawings.

In the future, Sandy would like to progress within Intermach, taking on more complex tasks. He would also really like to get involved with the training of the apprentices working within the company.
