Level 2 - Housing Apprenticeship

Candice-Walters-Housing.jpg

Candice is studying a Level 2 Housing Apprenticeship with Swindon College.

Before coming to Swindon College, she completed 1 year at 6th form, but didn’t like it, and after being made redundant from an apprenticeship in design, decided to take a break and go travelling in Thailand, joining Swindon College when she returned.

Candice said,

I chose this apprenticeship with Swindon Borough Council as I had always had an interest in property, and I wanted to get a qualification as well as hands-on experience alongside it. My favourite aspects of my apprenticeship are being given responsibility from my manager and gaining lots of experience whilst learning. There is also lots of extra training provided.

As part of her apprenticeship, Candice has helped to run 3 contracts for fencing, concreting and fire doors. She has also carried out completions of works, general admin and has attended lots of monthly meetings.

In the future, Candice would like to move onto a HNC, and have a permanent placement at Swindon Borough Council. She would like to continue developing within her current job role and progress within the Council.
