Kaylie, 19, originally started her studies at another college but soon realised it was not hands on enough for her. She explains:

I didn’t enjoy studying A-Levels as it was too text book and I am a kinaesthetic learner. I also suffer with Epilepsy and last year it was particularly bad. It interrupted my studies and I found it difficult to juggle my condition with my work. Swindon College has been fantastic at supporting me with the management of my Epilepsy and ensuring I am achieving my potential.

Kaylie is now retaking the course as she was not satisfied with a merit and is aiming for triple distinction.

I know I am capable of a distinction for this course. The tutors have really pushed me to achieve my best and they often use my business plan to set an example for my peers.

I have a solid business plan which led to me being scouted by Outset; a company that’s supports business start-ups based in Swindon.

Kaylie is really excited for what the future holds and is aiming to study events management and interior design internationally.

I love the thought of organising festivals, charity events and entertainment and I can’t wait to get started.
