Hannah Turner

Hannah, 34 is currently studying the Diploma in Education and Training course alongside her full time job as a NHS Foundation Trust Learning Development Officer. Hannah has been a qualified paramedic for over 16 years and now wants to share her practice with new paramedics, she explains:

My role as a Learning Development Officer means I do clinical reviews on paramedics out on the road making sure they are completing their roles to the best of their ability.

I chose to study the DET course to support this role I could have chosen to study alongside other development officers but I chose to study at Swindon College as I feel I can benefit more from other students. There is a great mix of students on my course and we all encourage one another.

The course is great I have previously completed a Masters and this level 5 course is equally challenging but great fun. With my experience of a masters under my belt I am able to help others in class when they need it.

Alongside her course Hannah is also a military wife and a mum to two small children and still finds time to complete work and her course.

After receiving her qualifications Hannah plans to continue her role as a NHS Learning Development Officer, with aspirations one day to teach using her medical skills with children.
